Sleep Paralysis

A petrified man,

Ossified with fear

When he spotted

The red cow.

Touched by the staff of Moses,

He parted with earthly

Wits and self-control.

He was celibate to

Paranormal activities,

And avoided change at all costs.

The world was upside down

And his things began

Falling upwards into

Nothingness and

He found himself inside a

Mammoth lumbering

Into town, disrupting

The daily routine of things.

No one else seemed to

Notice the hairy beast,

Except for the lone

Red Cow, who slowly turned,

A briskly left the dreaming in fear.

Momentarily,

There was his late grandmother.

Her touch, with soft silken hands

Would make everything

Right again in the world.

Her reach, about to touch his nose,

Passed right through the

Motionless man. Confined to fear.

All he could think was,

Please wake up, please wake up.

Please wake up.

But that’s not how it happened.

He merely was clinching his jaw and grinding his teeth,

Trying to escape the ghastly dreams from beneath.
