They are all based on the author’s personal experiences, and the stories of the incredible, yet unfortunate souls who all have lost their ways to addiction, depression, PTSD, and other mental health issues. Each poem is exactly that, a poem. No names, except for the authors shall be known in this collection of work. These demons we carry with us are the elephants in the room.

Set Ablaze
Elephant is a collection of poetry and short written while in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility. They are all based on the author’s personal experiences, and the stories of the incredible, yet unfortunate souls who all have lost their ways to addiction, depression, PTSD, and other mental health issues. Each poem is exactly that, a poem. No names, except for the authors shall be known in this collection of work. These demons we carry with us are the elephants in the room. Whether it is home, work, or wherever else we carry our woes, the elephant is not far behind. If you are feeling hurt, damaged, abused, addicted, or having thoughts of harming yourself, there is help available. On the days when we feel the worst, picking up a phone and calling for help, or just someone to talk to you may seem impossible and like the phone weighs 1000 pounds, but I assure you, from experience, make the call.
Set Ablaze is a volume of poetry when losing control and find a grip on reality becomes raw and inevitable.

eLePHaNT vol III: In the End is a collection of poems short stories, and Essays written over the prior few years to this release. They were all written at a time of turbulence in my life while falling victim to addiction and facing it head with many ups and downs.
"My poor penmanship would lead you
To believe I am an internist,
Specializing in broken hearts.
Sadly, I am just awful at putting
Words on the page.
My head is filled and overflowing
With intrusive thoughts and cries for help.
My mouth is broken, and passing
Thoughts of mundane and odd things
Muddy the neuropathways to healing.
Things like, when did my penmanship
Go south? Was it always this bad?
Or did I fall behind and give up?
Or how many pennies do you think
It would take to fill this very room?
Or Do fish experience thirst?
Or to kill and elephant, how many
Chickens would you need?
I know I’m an odd soul, but
I really just want to be heard.
Being everyone’s listener
Requires absurd amounts of
Empathy, and I feel like I may be
Running on empty."

In Godspeed, Good Man, the main character, Harrison Goodman, a reluctant self-induced recluse is grieving the loss of his wife. Cut off to family, friends, and church, he spends his days reading obituaries, listening to old jazz, and drinking whisky out of a coffee mug. One day he finds index card files full of his wife’s old recipes. He decides to bring her spirit back into the house by teaching himself how to cook the recipes she made for him over the years. Unfortunately, while reliving those memories, they also dredge memories he would rather have stayed hidden forever. He eventually opens up to his daughters about what actually happened on his wife’s last day alive. This book has heart, heartache, and had an ending that will shock the reader.
